One Direction is a british boy band that consists of 5 members; Louis Tomlinson (20), Harry Styles (18), Niall Horan (19), Zayn Malik (19) and Liam Payne (19). They each entered the X-Factor as individual contestants but didnt make it through. Simon Cowell (judge on x-factor) decided to bring all 5 boys togther and to compete in X-Factor as a boy band. The boys finished 3rd, but Simon didnt want to waste precious talent so he signed the boys with sony. From there, One Direction have accomplished many things together.
